Frequently Asked Questions
Here are some of the questions we hear most often. If you don’t see an answer to your question, please contact us now.
HOW IT WORKS
What can I expect on my first day?
Simply log in to your appointment and meet with your prescriber. They’ll review your medical, psychiatric, and family history, discussing your symptoms and main concerns. Together, you’ll explore the option of medication and, if needed, they’ll send prescriptions to your pharmacy or make referrals for additional treatments.
What is the process for adjusting or changing my medication?
From time to time, medications may require adjustments in dosage or timing or it may become apparent that a different medication is better suited for you. Every individual is unique. Our dedicated staff is accessible via phone or text to address any concerns you may have. Additionally, you have the option to schedule an extra visit with your provider for further evaluation and discussion.
What kind of treatment plans do you offer?
Our goal is for you to find the right medication that works for you. Psychiatric treatment is not one size fits all solution. It takes trial and error to find what works best for your biology and environment.
Our team will work with you to design a safe and effective personalized treatment plan for you.
Here’s how our process works:
After the initial visit.
It’s important to follow the prescribed medication regimen. Our providers are well-versed in prescribing practices, ensuring that your dosage and medication type are both safe and suitable. If you experience any side effects or symptoms, don’t hesitate to reach out to your provider. They are committed to working with you to address any issues you may encounter.
Taking the medication.
Medications affect everyone differently and it can take a couple of weeks for your body to adjust and realize their full effects. Psychiatric medications typically require additional lifestyle changes to ensure that side effects and symptoms are managed. Feel free to message your provider to learn more about how to manage your symptoms and side effects.
Treatment Plan Adjustments.
Due to the legal regulations around some medications, your provider may only make adjustments to your medication once per month. If you are experiencing side effects of the medication, please message your provider to learn how to manage them.
What locations do you serve?
We currently provide care to patients throughout Arizona and Virginia, with plans to expand soon to more states.
Do you have any office locations for in-person visits?
No, we currently only offer virtual telepsychiatry visits and care to ensure our experts can meet the needs of everyone, from the convenience of their own home.
Can I switch from my psychiatrist to you?
Yes! We understand that finding the right mental health care provider is a deeply personal choice, and we’re committed to making the transition as smooth and supportive as possible. If you decide to transfer your care to us, we recommend obtaining a copy of your medical records from your current psychiatrist to ensure continuity of care.
Our team will work closely with you to understand your mental health history and tailor our approach to meet your needs. Before the initial consultation, patients are required to submit a thorough medical history survey which will be evaluated before each appointment.
Notes from your previous psychiatrist(s) will help with filling out the required information. Your previous records will also be helpful in evaluating your prescription history and treatment plans, and determine if they are still a good fit for you.
Who is Platinum Psychiatry for?
No, we currently only offer virtual telepsychiatry visits and care to ensure our experts can meet the needs of everyone, from the convenience of their own home.
PRICING
What are the costs?
Our services are priced at $89 per month, covering your initial 60-minute intake session and all subsequent follow-up appointments.
Do you accept insurance?
No. We believe insurance can oftentimes be a barrier to receiving premium quality mental health care. This is why we offer our services for a flat rate of $80/month to provide the best possible care for everyone.
Will you be able to continue my current prescription?
Our providers need to perform a comprehensive evaluation for every new patient. You can present the previous prescription to your provider and it will be taken into account when they craft your personalized treatment plan.
Your provider will help determine whether continuing your previous treatment plan is still a good option for you.
